So guys I’ve just reached 14 weeks and I feel fitter than ever!
I am probably doing more exercise now than ever before for a few reasons really:
- I want my baby to have a strong heartbeat
- I want to feel good throughout my pregnancy
- I want to be able to get back into my size 10 jeans once I have had the baby
- Fitness a huge part of mine and my partners life
My exercise regime however has changed. Once upon a time I would be in the gym 5 times a week for 2 hours a time but now I spend more time working out at home, walking and swimming and this is working for me.
Not everyone will be able to exercise this much when pregnant, everyone is different but everyone can do some form of exercise and you will probably feel better for it. Take this morning, I took my dogs for a half hour stroll, nothing strenuous but I still burnt off 115 calories, that’s 115 more than being sat on my bum at home!
If you’re feeling a little bit more energetic like me then you can push yourself a little more. So this afternoon I’m doing a 7 mile hike and I’ll probably burn about 700 calories.
The choice is yours, make the right choice for you but remember if you are exercising outside in the heat then stay hydrated! It’s so IMPORTANT. 💦
